Virtual Food Drive

How Can You Help?

We have been reaching out to several of you over the last few weeks to see what you need and how we can help during these trying times. It warms our hearts that your overwhelming response has been “what can we do to help?” We’re emailing you today to encourage you to participate with us in a virtual food drive. Check out the organizations in our community below who are accepting food or monetary donations (or both).

Carson Valley Community Food Closet

The Food Closet is accepting donations of refrigerated, frozen, and shelf stable items, M, T, W, and F from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. All items must be unopened, unused, and have ingredients on the label.

They are also in need of sanitary supplies for their operations:
Gloves, masks, Lysol spray or wipes, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and paper towels.

Additional needed items include: toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, and household cleaners. *Remember, these must be new and unopened.

Food For Thought in Carson City

This wonderful organization has been implementing new strategies and making adjustments to their processes to ensure that they can continue to provide meals to children in need. While they cannot accept food donations right now, they are in need of monetary donations. Click here to donate.

Food Bank of Northern Nevada

To ensure the highest food safety standards for the community, the Food Bank is seeking monetary donations to purchase the most needed items. They say that every $1 helps them to provide three meals and is the most efficient way to help right now. You can donate by clicking here.
